Tammy was born & raised in Southern California. She grew up a tomboy, beach lover with a bigger love for nails. She delivered newspapers in her neighborhood to get money to buy press-on nails and nail lacquers.

At 17, she wanted to be a lawyer. She couldn't afford law school, so her plan was to start with Nail School to become a licensed nail tech, do nails to pay for law school. On her first day at Garden Grove School of Cosmetology, she knew nails were her passion in life. After graduating & passing state board, Tammy opened up her first salon in Costa Mesa, CA. She was only 18 years old. The salon was only 385 square feet but within 2 years, her salon and love for nails grew. 

By 1983, Tammy struggled with the nail products that were on the market. They weren't working how she liked and she knew something needed to change. Tammy then decided to develop her own line of nail products. Tammy launched her brand all on her own in her nail salon. Her first line of products included a Nail Liquid, Pink Nail Powder, White Nail Powder and Non-Lifting Primer. Tammy now carries over 2,000 products in her Core Line.

Tammy's products are loved by Nail Technicians and Nail Enthusiasts worldwide. When developing her products, she knew she wanted them to be easy to use, beautiful and top-quality. Nail technicians and their clients deserve nothing but the best, and Tammy Taylor Nails certainly delivered. All products are made in small batches which preserves quality of products and eliminates waste. 

Nail Education is extremely important to Tammy. Her philosophy has always been “help the industry get better, and we’ll all have a better business and future.” Tammy has traveled the world sharing her knowledge of techniques and procedures and posts weekly on YouTube doing the same. She recently launched her own online nail school,Tammy Taylor Nail Institute. Tammy has written and created TTNI Guide to Manicuring & Advanced Nail Technology, a complete Nail Licensing Program used in Beauty Schools. TTNI  prepares students for their State Board licensing test and their career in nails.

Tammy has received countless awards for her work and products. She has received over 40 Readers Choice Awards by Nails Magazine and Remarkable Women Lifetime Achievement Award by NAWBO (National Association of Women
Business Owners).

Fun Fact: Tammy still holds the World Record for the Fastest Set of Pink and White Sculptured Nails which she set in 1986 in front of a live audience! (Pictured)

While Tammy no longer does nails in a salon, she does have a few clients which include some friends and family. Billie Eilish is one of Tammy's few clients she still takes to this day and together they've created her most iconic nail looks. You can see Tammy's work on Billie on the covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Elle. Her products can be found in thousands of salons worldwide, worn by your favorite celebrities, and loved by nail enthusiasts.
